Since it’s got a large magnification (10x) and wide objective lens (50mm) collecting tons of light, it is suitable for viewing game in the outdoors. Due to its optical stability it’s even suited to beginners. But that’s only the basics. 

The Bak4 glasses have a rounded exit pupil. This results in better light transmission and sharper images than the more usual BK7 glasses, which have a square-shaped exit pupil. Similarly, BK-4 prisms produce acceptable images, but their images are more rounded than in BAK-4 prisms.

BAK4 stand for barium crown glass and is the best material for making prisms. It has a higher refractive index and lower refraction than other materials, which makes it transmit light better without losing luminosity due to internal reflections within the device.
